Maaaaaaaaaandi, why did you favorite the evil stamp?

;___;

I'm sure you know what this is.
:iconslowboathome:
Which 'un is that?

"Do you have any last words?"
"Yes. Just three."
:icong-r-o-w-l-z:
The atheist one.
I love that you're an atheist, but that one's pretty mean. "Proud to be Right"? Right about what? Religion or a lack of religion is completely subjective. You can't be right about an opinion.

:(

If you look through the comments on that one you'll find me trying to argue. Of course, that was back a few months ago when I was way high strung and totally idiotic. So of course, I lost the argument because I really failed. But you still loved me back then, didn't you? I dunno. I feel like such arrogant stamps really only cause more hate. I'd much rather my atheist friends use this stamp the same way I think you would want your Christian friends to use this stamp as opposed to this stamp.

Hm.

I DID read through the comments, which I haven't done before, and found a lot of things along the lines of "how plesantly not offensive". And, you know, the whole description... "Disclaimer: This is not meant to promote intolerance of any kind, shape, or form towards religious people. Disapproval ≠ intolerance". Actually, reading through these made me feel nice to see that athiests aren't a bunch of assholes afterall. Well, not all of them, anyway. :]
But, I guess the opinions of others isn't really the point here.
Let's see, cork. I can understand your argument, I suppose that claiming to be right can come off as insulting. Just as the "whether you believe or not" can be. I guess. But... I think it's just a stronger way of stating an opinion than "pride". I am of the personal opinion that my opinion is correct. YES THAT CAN HAPPEN. I'm not gonna hate someone for disagreeing with me, just like I wouldn't expect them to hate me for it.

BUT IN ALL HONESTY the thing that really made me fave this stamp above any other athiest stamp isn't the questionable title but all the quotes.
:| I'm sorry if I have made you sad.

Well, because you're awesome, I'm going to try my best not to get into some "heated argument" because I seriously hate those. They suck.

But I sort of saw the stamp to be saying, "My notions of the universe are correct because a bunch of philosophers and authors sat down and said that religion is destructive and pointless." Which to me, is along the same thinking of, "I'm right to say that vanilla ice cream is the best because a bunch of profoundly famous food critics said that chocolate ice cream sucks." I realize that the comparison is a huge stretch and I'm not trying to trivialize anyone's beliefs, but that pretty much sums up what that stamp is saying to me personally, which I guess you understand.

And I dunno, I usually don't associate arrogance with tolerance. But, I guess that I usually go a step further than most people and don't condemn anything unless it's directly causing harm to people even if I disagree with it. xD; So... I personally find it very hard to hear Sordid-sinister, or anyone for that matter, out when they tell someone that their opinion is completely wrong and then turn around and say that they still love them anyway. It only hurts my brain. :<

I really love you Mandi, and not in the creepy internet stalker way, but in the "I'm your internet friend of (almost?) five years who probably doesn't know you very well but doesn't let that get in the way of thinking you're awesome" way. So I'm genuine when I say that I don't mind you being an atheist or having your own opinion about spirituality, buut I will admit that I'm a little crestfallen when you say, "I am of the personal opinion that my opinion is correct" if only because it confuses me to no end. o_o;

Opinions can't be correct.. That's why they're opinions. C: But, I'm not gonna argue with you, srsly, because it wouldn't be worth potentially putting our little friendship on the line. :giggle:
